(What would you think of starting a modern rp in addition to this one? I know I haven't been good about responding lately and it would just add more to do, but I've been in the mood for some modern stuff lately. Maybe a group of friends or something? We could either follow them through a certain period of time or just start when they're all 20-something. Idk maybe throw in some drama and whatnot. If you don't want to right now that's fine, I just thought I'd throw it out there.)

Drezdon had just finished a conversation with one of the lords and then told his announcer that he was ready to speak. A few moments later, trumpets sounded and the chatter died down until most of the room was silent. With a quick smile at Mia, he stepped forward. “Citizens of Hyde, I bid you welcome. To those who have come from afar, welcome to the capital city of Hyden, I am pleased to see so many people here,” he began, and then waited for the applause to die down. “I have called this gathering to share with you all some important decisions I have made, as I believe you as the people have the right to know what your king is doing and why.” To those who knew the news Drezdon was going to share it would be clear he was trying to soften them up and make himself look good at the same time. “First, you may be pleased to learn I have decided who I will take as my Queen,” he continued. This was met by applause and cheers, though he wasn’t sure how long that would last when he told them who. “She is intelligent and kind and I believe she will make an excellent Queen. People of Hyde, your new queen will be Lady Mia Monta,” he announced and waited to see the reaction. There was not as much protest as he expected, though there was no noticeable cheering and not everyone was clapping. In fact, some were frowning up at him with disapproving looks. At the same time, at least no one was openly protesting. Once that applause had died down, Drezdon went on. “There will be a ceremony soon followed by a large reception. Everyone in the kingdom is invited to the reception,” he informed them, earning him some shocked looks. This was mostly intended to be a crowd pleaser. Obviously the entire kingdom wouldn’t fit even in the castle’s largest room, but there would be tents and tables set out around the castle to accommodate people as they came. It was highly unlikely that the entire kingdom would come anyway, but there should be enough space for those that did. “The second thing I wish to inform you of may come as a shock to many, but please try to let me finish before you say anything.” Drezdon’s green eyes scanned the crowd for a moment before he continued. “I have decided to undergo the process to become a Witcher.” Just as he had predicted, the audience didn’t take it all that well. Some gasped in shock, others called out in protest, and some even walked out. There were some who didn’t say anything, but they were few among the crowd. Drezdon waited for everything to settle before going on. “I understand your concern and objections. Believe me, it was not an easy decision or one I took lightly.” That was not entirely the truth, but it certainly sounded better than the truth. “Ultimately it came down to what I thought best for the kingdom. I think we all know that King Brion in Vulci isn’t going to leave Hyde alone forever, no matter if he and I are related by blood.” A murmur ran through the crowd as the people acknowledged the threat Vulci posed. “When the day comes that King Brion decides to march on Hyde, I want to be able to show him that he will not be able to take Hyde so easily. I have already begun training more men for the armies, but if I have the ability to use magic, Hyde’s army will have even more power behind it. We will be able to stand against Vulci and show them that the people of Hyde will not give up. That we will not allow ourselves to be conquered!” In contrast to his previous announcement, this was met with enthusiastic applause and cheering. He had presented it in this way to help make his becoming a witcher more accepted with the people, and it appeared to have worked on most. It could still change as time passed, but for now they were happy. He then concluded the speech and told everyone they were welcome to continue with the party before sitting back down next to Mia at the table on the dais. “Well, it certainly could have gone worse,” he said with a laugh.
Once the king was done speaking, Vivian, who was going around and serving drinks to people, sidling up to Ace. “Would you care for a drink, milord? You look as if you might need one,” she said, holding out her tray to him, but the slight twinkle in her grey eyes showed she was teasing. She would wait to talk to him more about the king’s announcements and what to do next once they were alone, but she wanted to at least say hello. “I don’t know about him, but I certainly need one,” Zrayah said sauntering up next to Vivian and taking a goblet from the tray. “I think it’ll help me process the news a little better. Right now it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me,” he said with a laugh. After getting an odd look from Vivian he laughed again and said. “oh forgive me, my name is Zrayah.” He decided not to tell them he was King Brion’s advisor, but didn’t see it as a problem if they figured it out. It’s not as if the King Drezdon were trying to keep the meeting a secret. He then looked between Vivian and Ace expectantly. Vivian raised an eyebrow at him but told him her name with a smile. “It is an honor to meet you, miss Vivian and might I say you are a true beauty. Why a girl as beautiful as you might actually be worthy of being with me and my good looks,” he joked, grinning. If you didn’t know Zrayah you might take him as self-absorbed and egotistical, but that was only partially true. Despite herself, Vivian couldn’t help a small blush. “Do you always start conversations like that?” she asked, looking away from Zrayah. Had she not been serving drinks to people at a grand party, she might have been able to handle Zrayah better with a sassy comment or something, but she didn’t want to start anything and make a scene.
Akyrum hung in the back of the room, listening to the king speak. Everything he said was new to Akyrum, so he was quite interested the whole time. Now that it was over, however, he really just wanted to know what Alistair thought of all of it, especially the Witcher part. He had a feeling the king was either poorly informed about witchers, or was being lied to by someone about them, because he doubted he would be so keen to do it if he really knew what being a witcher meant.
Even Ariella had been left out of the loop as to what Drezdon’s announcement was, to an extent. Obviously she had known of his desire to become a witcher, but she didn’t know anything of his plans to marry Mia. She listened to the rest of the speech, but when it was over she excused herself from Jayton and was the first to approach Mia. “I know I said it before, but congratulations! I had no idea!” she gushed, smiling at the mage and ignoring her brother’s annoyed look when she interrupted him. Ever since Mia’s arrival at the castle when she and Drezdon were young, she’d been jealous of her. Not like many ladies at court who were jealous of Mia’s looks, but mainly because of her closeness to Drezdon. Ariella was not one to show her jealousy, however, and right now she was honestly more excited about the thought of the wedding and party than anything.
Adaline stood somewhere in the middle of the crowd but was only half listening to the announcement. Being originally from Vulci, she really didn’t care much about what the king of Hyde had to say. Sure it bothered her slightly when he spoke of fighting against Vulci, but at the same time, she’d never been particularly attached to her homeland. After Yuza had taken over everything, it had changed and she missed the way it was before that more than anything else. Once the king had finished, Adaline looked around for anyone to talk to. Part of her wanted to introduce herself to the princess, but Ariella was busy at the moment so she decided not to. She turned around and ran straight into Brion. “Oh excuse me, milord, I’m terribly sorry. I’m afraid being in a crowded hall doesn’t help the fact that I’m a bit clumsy,” she said with a slight laugh. Though he was technically her king, Adaline would have no way of recognising him since she had never been to the capitol and even if he looked familiar from paintings, she would never expect to see the king of Vulci here in Hyde so the thought never even crossed her mind.
When Ariella left, Jayton had gone off to find some of his lady friends who were there, still determined to find a girl Gaius would like. Most of them just wanted to talk about what it was like dating the princess and what she was like, however, and Jayton quickly grew bored. Eventually he excused himself and went to find the drinks, knowing he would need at least three more (in addition to the four he’d already had) in order to make it through this party. A glass in his hand, he turned to the man next to him (Alistair) and said, “looks like there will be some quite interesting changes in Hyde.” It was just a comment to start a conversation, he had no idea who he was actually talking to, of course.
(I’ll probably have Vivian or Zrayah come talk to Gaius if you want. Or he can go talk to Akyrum. Up to you.)

(I made the thread, but if you rather do it go ahead, we can talk about the rp on there xD)
Ace had been one of the few who knew everything that was going to be announced tonight so he didn't react in anyway as the speech went off. Rubbing his chin as he watched the peasants his blue eyes went from the crowd to Vivian, and a few moments later his eyes went to Zarayah as he joined them. Hearing his name was enough for Ace to know who he was, he was a quite informed freeloader in Hyde. He than watched them talk for a bit. Instead of joining the conversation he turned to look for Vulci's king, but didn't see the young king so he gave up, and watched them for a bit again. "I have some setting up to do, so if you'll excuse me." He told them, and with a bow he exited the room with most of the party, and was heading to his room so he could freshen up on how to do the ritual. (Plus I don't have much for him to do at a party. xD)
Mia turned to Ariella once her voice rose into the mage's ear, she didn't have any comment on the princess for they didn't talk this much. "Thanks......." She commented not how to speak in front of the princess since she normally avoided speaking with her in fact she could remember the last time they talked. "It's good to see at least the princess isn't booing me." She laughed it didn't bother her, but it was a way to open up conversation, and she decided to take it so she could try to be on the princess goodside for future preference. This was the most she ever tried in a conversation without it being with Drezdon, or Alistair. "Now the real question is, when are you going to marry that Jayton fellow?" She asked only knowing of his name from the rumors, and such she heard on her daily tasks.
Brion was heading to go find the Hyde General despite the rumors of the guy having been gone for a while now, but than he collided with someone. "No need to apologize, having beautiful woman run into me is more a blessing than something to say sorry for." He responded with his charming smile. "So what about this new announcement? I'm going to have to deal with a witcher if I ever decide to attack here." He laughed not flat out saying who he was, but that statement should have handled his name. "Never thought he'd marry a mage either." He commented deciding to talk with her til he finds Alistair as he wanted to know the general's take on this new news.
Alistair was deep in his drinks after hearing that announcement, and it was too late for him to say don't do it, since he already made the big announcement. He was about to go speak with the king anyways, and inform him of his return, but than a voice reached his ear, and he decided to respond as he didn't wanna deal with the guards getting all jumpy when a strange looking man went up to the king claiming he was the general. "Some changes....... and a civil war most likely." Alistair sighed as the servants filled his drink again. "The only thing that could spice up things more is King Brion announcing a marriage with an elf." He laughed wondering if his plan would have to change a lot. Maybe the general wouldn't join back with Drezdon, and instead joined some civil army that was soon about to erupt. Vulci already had one so he was sure a few would pop up in Hyde with this big announcement. "If the princess ever wanted to take the throne from her brother, now would be the time." He joked not knowing the man he spoke to was Ariella's new boyfriend. "She'd just need a good warrior, a mage she wasn't marrying, and someone good with talking." He laughed not knowing that he was pretty much saying the princess only needed Gaius, himself, and Jayton to steal the throne. (Figured this is how Ariella could join the race, Jayton takes that statement seriously, or something xD )
Gaius seeing the advisor of Vulci had moved up to them, and looked at Vivian not caring if some servant heard what he was going to bring up. "Is your king serious about this?" He asked skipping the greetings as he took out the note he was given by Brion demanding Gaius comes back to his army, but as an assassin this time. "I figure his advisor would know if he was serious about it." He sighed it wasn't that he was offered the job, it was the fact that Brion was offering quite a lot of money for the job, quite a lot. "If he is serious please tell me he doesn't want me to go to Valm, and kill their ruler, because with that payment offer that's the kind of job I'd expect." He laughed rubbing his chin as he looked at the note he handed the advisor. (This was the only reason I could think for Gaius going up to them. xD)

(Good lord I have the worst luck. My computer decided to flip out on me and not work and then I got sick and couldn't hardly put two coherent sentences together. No I have to go to Kansas to visit family and my grandma doesn't have wifi. So. I'm going to start using my phone, assuming it's not going to freak out on me too, but that may mean my posts won't be as long depending on how well I deal with that tiny phone keyboard. Good grief I'm so sorry.)
(I did do some thinking on plot stuff though while I've been away, and I was just wondering what you had in mind with Drezdon. I'm fine if he dies at any point, so do whatever makes sense. I thought of some new possible characters, so I need to start killing some xD As far as Ariella joining the race, I was honestly planning on her not living much longer, but I thought maybe if Alistair or Akyrum "possesses" her or whatever, it would make more sense. Right now, she's honestly not in any mental state to think of taking over a Kingdom.)

(If you wanna just wait to continue when you get back I can wait. ^-^ Though if you wanna respond with shorter post go ahead x3)
(Drezdon can die if you like, Mia is just going to try to destroy the world she can do that with, or without him ^^, Akyrum could possess her, but Alistair wouldn't have any need for her.)

(Ok, we'll have to see how much time I have/how bored I get. On the way to the airport now, so it wouldn't be until later tonight or tomorrow.)
(They're both probably just going to die soon then. Maybe Mia could successfully destroy Hyde or just kind of turn it into a wasteland of sorts. Could possibly be interesting later.)
