Varaela jumped as Duncan was shoved toward her by the king. "Don't worry, you're safe for now," she told him, rolling her eyes. "If I tried anything, I might rip my dress," she said in a tone that made it sound like she actually cared about the dress, but she was obviously being sarcastic. If anything, being all dressed up as she was just made her want to go hide, not hit anyone. She was just so uncomfortable she couldn’t be herself. For a moment she didn’t say anything, kind of hoping Duncan would go away so she could sulk, but eventually she straightened up and moved away from the wall. “I’ve never really been to a party like this,” she admitted, looking around at the room. “My father used to host them, but I usually wasn’t allowed to attend, even though I didn’t really want to most of the time.” After she said it, she wasn’t completely sure why she was telling him this, it wasn’t like he really cared. Perhaps it was just the nerves making her blurt the first thing that came to mind.
“It would be my pleasure,” Drezdon said and took Mia’s hand and escorted her to the dance floor. Once there he took her waist and they began twirling with the other couples. Now that he was away from King Brion and some of the other proud Vulcians, Drezdon found himself actually having a good time. He actually was quite a good dancer thanks to Helenia insisting that he and Ariella both learn how to dance at a young age. Drezdon might be one of the most formidable soldiers around, but he’d had little training in how to handle women, so he felt a little bit awkward as he searched for something to say to Mia. Eventually he gave up trying to think of something clever or interesting and just said what was on his mind. “I have to admit, I don’t understand how you women can do anything in those shoes, much less dance as well as you can,” he said with a laugh, referring to the heels Mia wore. (Oh no, I’m starting to actually like Drez... xD)
Ariella looked at him for a minute as if trying to remember why he might be looking for a husband for her, but then put it all together. “I’ve changed my mind, I don’t want you to try to find me a husband anymore.,” she told him, shaking her head. “You take it much too seriously. Drezdon, on the other hand... keep looking for someone him.” She didn’t really care who her brother married as long as he was happy and the woman he chose made a good queen. Without a warning, Ariella grabbed Damien’s arm. “Come dance with me! You don’t look as if you’re having enough fun,” she said with a smile and began towing him toward the dance floor. She didn’t have a terribly firm grip on him, so it would be easy for Damien to break away if he wanted to.
Vivian looked around at the lords and shrugged. She just saw a lot of wealthy men who liked wearing fancy clothes. "Thank you, but I think all of the ladies here would disagree quite strongly," she responded to his compliment and smirked slightly, still looking out at the dancers. She was still getting nasty looks from many of the women, but that just gave her more satisfaction. "As for King Brion… I don't want to be queen. Queens don't get to have any fun. Besides, he's too young for my liking. I prefer... more experienced men," she said with a half smile, glancing at Ace briefly.

Duncan looked at her for a few moments nodding at the little background story. He would have walked away, but Brion was giving a stare that said 'You move, I push again' so there was no point in doing so. "Well than you'll be happy to hear the king has informed me that instead of just a ball, he wanted to have a gladiator fight, as last week I caught a pretty strong creature trying to steal some food from a market. To my surprise the next morning what greeted me in the change wasn't a wolf, but a naked woman." He laughed remembering that moment. "I think he's accepting open challengers to fight her, it was mainly the prisoners idea." He informed knowing if he spoke about the ball he would just be glared at so he decided to talk of the fight. Looking around once he turned back to Varaela. "I know this is going to get me a slap, but so we don't look like fools would you care to dance?" He asked her raising an eyebrow at her, and moving back slightly so he could have distance to feel from a flying hand to his face.
Mia whose head was laying on Drezdon's shoulder during a low dance looked up, and laughed. "I must say most grown man wouldn't be looking at my shoes." She teased with a smile looking at him. "I think it takes skill, I've been forced to wear these for quite some time." She laughed not revealing a number has she was hoping to get Drezdon to just forget about her age it's not like it mattered to much she looked to be the same age as Drezdon when in fact she was as old as Hyde was as she had been born right when the kingdom's split, and mages were mostly killed, or exiled. "You dance pretty well." He commented as she stared up at him even with the high heels she was quite short. "I'd have figured you would have skipped dancing lessons for sword lessons." She teased.
Damien raised a eyebrow at that, and nodded. "Alright I'll st-" He started when the next thing he knew he was being dragged to the dance floor. Sure he could have pushed himself free, but to do so he would look quite weird. Most the time he got away before they grabbed him. "Ariella your time is best suited with dancing with potential partners." He advised as he slowly followed her with a clear look of loathing to the idea of dancing. "I'm sure Lord _______ is a better dancer than I." He added being honest as he himself wasn't a dancer at all.
Ace raised a eyebrow at her. "MmmHmm." He simply responded with as he looked around. "Alistair experienced." He joked as he looked up at the general who seemed to be.... sleeping at the moment. "So who you got in mind to bring to woo tonight than?" He asked looking at her dress assuming no woman would dress like that unless she was trying to get someone's eye, and by the looks of everyone she was sure getting it. However unlike the other man Ace didn't give those stares in fact his face at the moment was a normal Ace poker face, with a hint of being tired.

(I'm actually really excited to rp some of the romance now xD An rp I was in several years ago got in trouble for some of our romance, so I've been really nervous to do anything on the other forums.)
Varaela was going to refuse, but she too had seen the look Brion gave Duncan. "Maybe if he thinks we're enjoying ourselves he'll force us to stop," she said quietly to Duncan. "Just… try not to laugh at my dancing skills. Or lack thereof," she said with a grimace. Hopefully she wouldn't step on his feet too much. Once they were on the dance floor, she asked about the fight he'd mentioned a few moments ago. "So this woman is a shapeshifter, I assume?" she asked, trying to take her mind off of how completely and utterly ridiculous she knew she must look. It had been a while since she'd come across someone with that ability, but she knew they existed.
Drezdon laughed and shook his head. "No, father wouldn't let me get out of them," he explained. "He said I needed to learn to dance so that I could charm queens and princesses of other kingdoms," he told her with a grin. "How am I doing?" he asked. Though his father had told him it was usually only to make a kingdom more prone to making deals with Hyde. That was more or less moot now that Vulci was the only neighbouring kingdom and had no queen or princess.
"But I don't want to dance with Lord _______ I want to dance with you!" she said, and continued pulling him toward the dance floor. "Come on, it'll be fun! I can help you if you don't remember the steps." Ariella had no hope of noticing, especially with the state she was in, but people were beginning to give her odd looks because of her increasingly rowdy behavior. In her mind, she was just having a blast and saw nothing wrong with that. (I have to say, I would't have guessed Ariella to be the one to get drunk and make a scene at a party xD)
"Did it ever cross your mind that I came simply to have a nice time?" Vivian asked, admittedly a little put out that he didn't seem to be picking up on her hints and she was therefore getting annoyed. "And if you must know, this is currently the only nice dress I have at the moment," she snapped. It was not something she would ordinarily admit to and would have gone along with the comment about wooing someone, but she didn't want Ace to see her as a woman who would do whatever she could to get men to notice her. She knew very well she could have dressed in modest pink ruffles and lace and she would still have had her pick of suitors if she had wanted.

(xD Well we got a few going so get ready to live up dis romance xD)
Duncan had taken it upon himself to use his own dancing skills so Varaela's lacker of wouldn't be noticed this was something Yolse royalty learned even before learning the blade. "Aye, she claims to be the Queen of the Wolves." He informed he didn't call them shapeshifters as each race had a name just like humans. "I think she called them Wolfivans." He informed thinking for a bit, and than nodded indicating that was what she said. "Her race had been mostly hunted out, and that is way she was stealing food at a market as she said it was more dangerous to be out hunting in the woods." He stated trying to remember what the wolf Queen had all told him. However while he talked he pulled of amazing dance moves even if his partner claimed she couldn't dance he still did the moves. "You'll meet her in a few hours." He promised with a smile.
Mia looked at him for a bit thinking, and smiled. "You are quite the charmer." She decided she didn't really know what she was talking about as she didn't try to woo males often in fact this was her first time despite her age. "I think you could charm any women with just your looks though." She informed laughing. Her eyes kept traveling as she didn't want Drezdon getting freaked out by her serpent eyes staring into his so she tended not to look at him to much. The song soon ending, and she removed her arms from his neck.
Damien watched the crowd for a bit with a frown, but wasn't about to carry the princess out he didn't need rumors that the advisor of Hyde suddenly picked up the princess, and headed outside. In fact he didn't want the rumors of them dancing either, but this was the lesser of the two evils. Upon getting to the dance floor he awkwardly put a hand on her mid back making sure to be as up as he could go hoping people would see he wasn't trying to get with her. He then looked at her. "You need to stay away from drinks for parties." He commented looking at her as he awkwardly lead the dance. It was clear he was more of a fighter than a dancer, in fact he was horrible dancer.
(Oh boy Vivian gonna get even madder cause like I said Ace=Clueless xD)
Simply nodding in response Ace closed his eyes as he leaned back on the wall. "Well it's a nice dress." He commented with a yawn again his wake up spell was getting weak as using magic made you tired, and so the spell wasn't really doing anything since he was already tired. "No reason to snap Vivian." He added looking at her again. "But if your here for a good time, I don't think I'm the right person to be with." He stated meaning he was about to pass out, and unless Vivian found talking to a sleeping body a good time, than he wasn't the greatest company.

(Haha yup! xD)
Varaela listened as Duncan told her about the Wolfivans. It was a term she'd heard a few times, but had never really learned much about. "Well I'm sure that'll make for an… interesting end to the party," she said as she tried to imagine a fight going on in the middle of all of the splendor of the ballroom. Fortunately the dance ended not long after, and Varaela gratefully made her way back to the edges of the room, assuming Duncan would follow if he wanted. She turned back toward Duncan to thank him for helping her not make an idiot of herself, but what she saw left her speechless and struggling for words. There stood Zrayah all dressed up in a dark blue jacket, grinning at her. Zrayah, however, turned to Duncan first. "You, sir, seem to have some power that I do not because I don't think I'd ever be able to get her within ten feet of the dance floor," he said to the other man with a laugh. "Over my dead body," Varaela muttered, confirming the statement. Zrayah went on as if she hadn't spoken. "I just don't understand it. I mean, what woman wouldn't want to dance with someone as handsome as me?" Varaela looked more like her usual self now; arms crossed, seething with irritation, and glaring daggers at Zrayah. (I figured it was time for him to make an entrance.)
Drezdon shrugged. "Perhaps," he said. "But where's the fun in that?" he joked and then lead Mia away from the dance floor. "Would you care to take a walk through the rose garden (I think it was) with me? I hear the gardens in Yolse are quite amazing." He wanted to be with Mia, but part of his motivation for leaving the room was also that he was trying to avoid his sister and advisor. Ariella had made him promise to dance with her once, and he just wasn't sure he could put up with her energy for that long. As for Damien, he kept trying to pair him off with other women, most of which he had no interest in.
(When is Damien going to start thinking romantically about Ariella? Just trying to figure some things out.) Ariella laughed at his comment about the drinks. "Oh come on, Damien, you're trying to take the fun out of everything!" she complained teasingly. She didn't notice his awkward dancing, though she was able to help a little bit because Ariella was quite a good dancer since she did it so often. It made it a little more difficult to help him since she wasn't leading the dance, but she tried. Fortunately for Damien, it was a short dance and she let him go. Now she was feeling slightly dizzy, so she decided it would be a good idea to go sit down for a while. "Well since you don't want to let me have any fun, will you at least come sit with me for a while?" she asked and began making he way toward a table with some empty chairs.
Vivian just rolled her eyes at him, seeing there was no point in trying to do much with him at all tonight, even just talking. "Come on, let's go find you somewhere to sleep," she said, grabbing his sleeve and pulling him for a moment before letting go and expecting him to follow. She had never been to Yolse before, and had certainly never been in the castle but she eventually found a hallway that had some doors leading to rooms. The first one she tried appeared to be some sort of meeting room, but the second had a nice big couch. "Do you want me to come fetch you later or would you just like to sleep?" she asked, stepping aside so he could come into the room.

Duncan looked at Zrayah, and laughed. "I had the king." He joked, and bowed before disappearing into the crowds he had no business messing around with the two. Soon finding a escape route through the bottom door he headed outside of the party, and heading into a room that was being guards by two guys. Getting them to move Duncan opened the door. "Ayita, you might as well take part in this party." He spoke inside the room walking in. Looking around he saw no sign of the wolf queen until suddenly a tail moved around him, and flicked his chin. "Mr. General." A female voice greeted with a bored tone. "This is the second time you got me to join this stupid party." She sighed looking at him with a pair of gray eyes. "I guess I will partake in your human get together." She sighed, and moved her tail so the general could turn around. Ayita was wearing very loose clothing like always, but was wearing a presentable dress at least. "Lead the way, human." She sighed. "Right this way." Duncan responded as he looked at her for a bit, and was about to comment, but remembered this woman was a lot like Varaela with those comments, but without the small friendship he had with Varaela. Leading the way back to the ballroom he opened the door, and Ayita walked in her eyes staring around. She was about to go find some food when Brion suddenly grabbed her, and the next thing she knew the King of Vulci was swinging her around weirdly. "What in the seven hells is this?" Ayita asked as the King kept dancing with a laugh. "This is dancing my dear Queen of wolves~" Brion told her looking at Duncan who was giving him a raised eyebrow, and a worried face. "You sure left a impression on Duncan." He laughed the general had pretty much begged they send her away instead of the fight, but to be honest Brion was interest in the wolf queen, not in a romantic way though he surely would kiss her if he felt their was a chance. "I tend to do that." Ayita laughed in response, and left the King continue doing what he had called dancing. "I almost left him some scars, but the poor guy told me his real age, and I felt leaving a scar on him would be rude." She laughed, and than finally saw the chance to slip down, and avoid the King weird dancing. "Next time you try to grab me I'll leave you a pretty scar~" She laughed, and began walking around again to find food. {Decided to do the same xD Plus I wanted to do this little scene~}
"You sure you wanna take me there?" Mia teased as she followed. "Rumors might start~" She laughed as she followed him into the rose garden. Once they reached it she picked one up, and inspected it. Than her hands grew purple, and the white Rose which look healthy turned to mere dust, and she smiled. Mia was always the nice, pretty girl who enjoyed destroying things. That's why she was trying to go along with Alistair's plan so when war broke out she could take her chance to make the world be a pile of dust like the rose. Turning back to Drezdon she walked over to him, and looked around. "Dancer, amazing fighter, and a fan of flowers you sure were built to please a woman." She commented with a smile.
(Hmmm well idk, but I'll spice it up~ I'll do the same with Ace~)
Damien smiled when the dancing ended, but at the same time he was pushed by a big dude who was backing up on accident, and suddenly the advisor of Hyde found himself in quite the position. His right hand was on Ariella's chest. A few moments of feeling on what he was touching he suddenly looked up, and his normally bland face was turned in a embarrassed, and shocked face on what he was touching. "Ariella I am so so so so sorry! I didn't mean to!" He told her, but with all the embarrassment he forgot to let go so his hand was still placed on Ariella's chest for a few more moments til he looked down, and quickly shoved his hand in his pocket. "I'm prepared to be slapped." He laughed looking at her.
Ace followed for her a bit, and at this point the tiredness where he was acting goofy. Upon reaching the room he grabbed Vivian, and fall down on the couch with her on top of him. "Why come get me? When you can join me~" He asked in a tired voice. Ace was the kind of guy that was worse tired than when he was drunk, and all the magic he used today had caused him to be super tired, which made since because Alistair was the one who told him of the spell which really did nothing, but waste magic knowing that Ace would do something stupid.
(I worked my magic~)

“What are you doing here?” Varaela growled to Zrayah, back to feeling very self conscious, especially after discovering that crossing her arms only made things worse. “Well, I am a citizen of Vulci, am I not?” he asked with a laugh. “And I did work at the old castle for a while before I left,” he reminded her. “I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself to the king. Well, re-introduce myself.” Zrayah had left old Gildor before Brion was old enough to remember him Unfortunately, that was not something Varaela could argue against, so she just glowered and stalked off. He’d been gone for years, not bothering send any kind of message as to where he was or what he was doing. Even when Xendria and Yuza died, there had been no word from him. Zrayah laughed, glad to see not much had changed. He decided not to follow her quite yet because he did like his jacket and didn’t want it burned or anything. Shaking his head in amusement, he started began wandering around looking for either someone to dance with or talk to.
Drezdon laughed at her comment and shrugged. “what can I say, I had great instructors,” he said with a laugh. When he was younger, he’d always thought of Mia and Alistair as just that; teachers and instructors. As he had gotten older, however, his views had changed slightly. He still saw Alistair as a mentor, but Mia had become more of a friend to him. He had realised a while ago, but It didn’t even bother him that she seemed to stay the same age even as he grew older. Now that he was a man, he was able to see Mia a woman. A woman who he found quite enchanting. When she was near, Drezdon reached out and put his hands on her waist, pulling her closer. “You know, your eyes don’t bother me,” he told her quietly, using a finger under her chin to tip her head up so she looked at him. He had noticed during their dance that she never looked at him for very long, and guessed that was the reason why .
(I didn’t make things quite as interesting as you, but Drez is much too serious for those sort of shenanigans xD)
Ariella had the decency to look embarrassed as well, but she actually found the whole situation hysterical and began to laugh. “Oh Damien it’s fine,” she managed to say between laughs. For a moment she couldn’t speak again because she was laughing, but eventually said, “As long as you promise it was an accident, I forgive you. But if it makes you feel better... ” She raised a hand and lightly smacked his cheek, not nearly hard enough to hurt or even leave a red mark. “Who knows, maybe someday I’ll let you do it again,” she joked –fortunately quietly enough for only Damien to hear– and then winked at him with a grin. She started to walk away, but had to catch herself on a chair so she wouldn’t fall, and that was when she seemed to realise what condition she was in. “Woah, I think I’d better sit down,” she said to no one in particular and then carefully lowered herself into the char she’d caught herself on.
(Ok so I’ve been rping her as if she’s pretty drunk, not just tipsy, so (not that it changes anything except for kind of context) but let’s just go with her being drunk and ignore the tipsy thing. Heh, it’s gonna be fun to see her backpedal when she’s back to normal xD) (Sounds like me when I’m super tired xD I just get all hyper and I do really weird things.)
Vivian was quite surprised when she suddenly found herself on top of Ace on the couch, especially given the way he’d been acting for the past half hour or so. “Ace, what are you doing? This is hardly appropriate,” she said and pushed herself into a sitting position though made no other move to get off of him. At least she’d gotten him out of the ballroom before he’d done something there or with someone else. She could only imagine how irritated the King would be if Ace –or anyone from Hyde for that matter– did something that might embarrass the kingdom. Clearly she had no idea of Ariella’s questionable behavior or she’d have been more worried about the Princess embarrassing the kingdom than Ace.
(OK so I’ve been trying to come up with reasons for why Vivian is suddenly very interested in Ace (other than the fact that he’s devilishly handsome xD) because it is a little bit random for her to be trying to hard with him when she could just go to another guy. So here’s what I’ve come up with for her. She is an assassin for Drezdon when he needs something done very quietly,. Vivian is perfect for that because if it’s a man, she can seduce him and then bam, he’s caught unaware and he’s dead. If it’s a woman, she can befriend her, and then quite literally stab her in the back. So yeah, Viv is not always the nicest most caring gal. Now, Drezdon also has Allistair for a lot of those things too, so she doesn’t get too many assignments from Drez. Part of Vivian’s character though, is that she loves killing (Nice girl, right?), so when she’s not doing stuff for Drezdon, she’s being hired by whoever needs her... services. Now, the only thing I can come up with for why she wants to get close to Ace is that she needs his magic for something. The problem is, I don’t know what for. I was thinking maybe she wants to curse someone, but she has basically no friends and no living family. So I’m sure you see where this is going; at first she just wants to use him but then actually finds herself falling for him. Or if you want to keep it slightly less cliche, we can do something different, there’s really a lot of directions we could go with it. I just need to find a reason for her to want to get close to him in the first place xD)
(Ok, I'm off do dinner. Back in a bit)
