Akyrum had been completely engrossed in a book all evening, but Adaline had nothing to do and was bored out of her mind. She’d tried several times to get Akyrum to walk around the town with her, but he would have none of it. Eventually she decided to just go out on her own, despite how stupid that probably was. She figured she’d had enough experience with drunk men back in her hometown that there wouldn’t be all that much to worry about. After wandering around for a while, Adaline found herself in a tavern chatting with some other travelers and even allowing one of them to buy her a drink. She’d been careful not to say much about who she was traveling with because she didn’t want to get Akyrum and Alistair in trouble since that would ultimately lead to her death. (I didn’t know exactly what you wanted with them since I don’t think they’re all in the same place. If this isn’t what you had in mind, let me know and I’ll redo it.)
(Yeah I’m good for now. They’re kind of ahead of everyone else anyway.)
Drezdon looked at Mia with confusion for a moment but as soon as she spoke, he recognised her voice and he smiled in return. Without responding to anything she’d said, he walked over and kissed her gently. “Not that you weren’t beautiful before, but this new look is stunning,” he told her, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. He then addressed the things she’d said with a sigh. “Yes, I suppose Ace will have a bit too much fun with the whole thing, but I’m willing to let it slide.” That was one of the main things holding him back from making the decision earlier; he wasn’t sure he really wanted Ace to be the one to do it because he knew the mage didn’t particularly like him. “Perhaps if your brother had told me where he was going or when he was going to be back I would have waited, but seeing as he hasn’t so much as sent word of anything, I’ve had to make the decision without him.”At first, Drezdon hadn’t worried much about Alistair’s disappearance, but after a few weeks with no news, he had become quite irritated by the fact that his general had decided to just go off and do who knows what without telling him anything At this point, however, there was clearly nothing he could do about it.
“She’s not there,” Ariella called to Ace as she approached him from down the hallway. She was on her way from the kitchens after speaking with the head cook about food for Drezdon’s wedding and had just seen the redheaded maid carrying a stack of towels somewhere. “She ought to be back soon... but could I... talk to you for a few minutes while you wait?” she asked almost shyly, now standing a few feet away from Ace and not looking at all like the usual cheerful Ariella. Though she went to visit Jayton and Gaius fairly often, she spent a lot of her time alone wandering about the castle or in her room. Ace had been busy with his preparations, Drezdon had often dismissed her from meetings and such, and she really didn’t have many other friends in the castle, especially since she’d stopped having her own personal guard years ago. “I understand if you’re busy, I just thought it might be nice to at least say hi for a moment since I hardly ever see you anymore.” She tried to smile and sound like she was teasing, but smiling didn’t come as easily for her anymore. (This can be a very short conversation, It’s mostly just to show Ariella’s.... deterioration. That’s a bit of an extreme word, but the best I could come up with.)
Jayton looked up from the book he was reading when Gaius came into the room. “Of course I’m going,” he told his brother, propping his feet up on the table in front of him. “Ariella told me I am to sit with her when the king gives his speech, and I would never risk angering my Princess.” To some his words may have sounded thoughtful or caring, but his slightly sarcastic tone and the half smile, half smirk he had on his face made it clear he really didn’t care much about what she thought. “I’m sure Ariella would be happy to let you come as well if you don’t want to stand among the masses of commoners. She seems to like you well enough.” He paused for a moment and though, a slight frown on his face. “In fact, she seems to like you almost more than she likes me,” he then joked with a laugh. It was true, Ariella was quite impressed with Gaius’ ability with the lute, and he was usually the first one to get a smile out of her if they were all together. (She doesn’t have a thing for him, just FYI) “I hope you’ll come with us because I imagine many of my lady friends will be there,” he informed his brother. “You could scope them out and tell me which ones you’d like to see again.” He’d sort of turned this whole matchmaking thing into a game for himself and he was determined to get his brother to at least go out with one of them.
Zrayah, who had been giving a magic demonstration for a few of the girls that were still there from the bandit camp, stood up and turned to the king. “Are you sure you want to do that?” he asked, referring to the part about making him king for a week. “I might give everyone the week off. Or make each family give up their firstborn child to me as tribute to my incredible good looks,” he joked with a grin. “I mean come on, the whole eyepatch thing makes me look so much more badass.” Yes, Brion was talking of going off to war, and here Zrayah was discussing his handsomeness. Eventually Zrayah got serious, however and addressed the part about the rebellion. “Are you sure this Lord Edwin is that serious?” he asked Brion with a slight frown. “I’ll be honest, I haven’t done the best job of keeping up with what he’s been doing and how big his army is. If it’s a small thing I would suggest you just some men down to put an end to it. If not, then It probably would be good for the people to see their king on the battlefield so they know you’re serious about keeping your crown.” He would have suggested that he go with Brion as having a mage along would help, but as the advisor it would be his duty to remain in the capital and maintain order there. Besides, Brion would likely have Duncan with him.
(Ooh that’s an interesting idea.)
(I’m not worried at all about their new looks xD)

Alistair upon reaching the town of Hyde had decided to find his two group members before heading in as he needed Akryum to get inside since now he didn't even have yellow eyes. Walking into a tavern in hopes of finding one of them, or so he could ask about them being somewhere at least. However to his delight he wouldn't have to look very hard as Adaline was talking with some gentleman. He didn't go over there as he would have to prove it was him, and he had no way of doing that currently. So he took a seat near the counter, and got some rum deciding he'd just follow her to Akyrum. He was getting starred at, as his new look wasn't something you saw very much, and he had a rapier at his side that was odd looking. It was a fake, as his real sword was with Akyrum, but he needed to show people he wasn't some peasant that could be rubbed at any time. Lifting the rum to his mouth he took a sip, and looked around again his blue eyes scanning the people. He planned on using this new form, forever, though he did plan on adding some stuff once his magic was full again, like a pair of black wings when he finally begin his attack. Deciding to play around he had the bartender give Adaline a drink, and than he went over to a bard who was too drunk to play. Grabbing the lute he began playing a song, he wasn't Gaius good, nor was he known to have this skill, but he could three songs he learned over the ages.
Mia smiled, and looked around the room. "I'd say he'll be back soon.... Don't worry, your the king, and if you think this is the right thing then I trust your judgement.... It is I, who trained you~" She teased, and moved out of the door as she looked around. "I'm also sure Ace won't do anything that's not part of the ritual has.... That would mess it up quite a bit." She informed she had seen the boy's new chamber, and was glad it was in the basement for it seemed like he was doing the most painful one to Drezdon, which was good, and bad since it would also make him the strongest witcher possible without being a child when it's done to you. "I'll come check in on you, to make sure he's not doing anything that'll kill you." She promised though she doubted her soon to be husband would want her seeing him in that condition.
Ace was quick on finding out Ariella was weird, he had noticed from some time, but he hadn't really planned on being the one to try, and help her. Sure it was a dick move, but he was a man of time now a days, and so he didn't spend it with people unless it was needed, or he really liked having them as friends, sadly he had lost that feeling with Ariella ever since he left the castle, and came back. "..... I see." He simply responded at first debating on leaving, or talking. Raising his right fist to his hand he coughed to clear his throat. "So what's been bothering you of late?" He decided to just come out, and ask. He wasn't going to speak of his torture of Drezdon with Ariella, nor his relations with Vivian so he figured this was a good topic to settle on with his old friend. "You used to be so cheerful, now it seems your depressed every time I see you. If your lonely I could.... summon you a dog, or something." He offered.
Gaius took off his top hat, and placed it on a hook while brother talked, he much prefered his new look people tended to show more respect with how well he dressed now. He wasn't playing much attention to his brother after a while, but looked at him once he was done making sure his cane, and hat was in good condition. "Getting jealous lil brother?" He teased rubbing his chin at the joke of Ariella liking him more, he had made it clear to Jayton he had no intentions of stealing the princess, even if he could she wasn't his type. Sure he wanted a noble woman, but not one that high up. "She's not my type anyways, she always looks like a peasant who got cut off from his drug supply." He joked rubbing the back of his head. "I'm pretty sure the King of Hyde doesn't want King Yuza, and King Brion most famous soldier sitting at his table.... Especially when I killed his father's, and step father's general." He laughed he had no intentions of being sent to the dungeons, though he would end up going up there anyways, and just not be near the higher ups to avoid angering them, though history showed he could make a mortal enemy his best friend if he tried hard enough.
Brion raised a eyebrow at him as he went on about his handsomeness, and rubbed the back of his head wondering if he maybe should make someone else king, but shook his head at the thought. "Just remember, I can't save you if you piss of the peasants. They can always go on a mage hunt." He commented mainly joking, but also being serious he needed his advisor handling the role correctly, or he might come home to a witch hunt. "Duncan has informed me he has twice the size of Shao Khan's camp, and he also wields a good amount of knights taking his side.... Anyways I plan on going to Hyde soon, in fact tonight in hopes of hearing his big announcement in person. That, and I wanna rehire a knight, but this time make him a assassin." He informed, and with that he moved as he remembered the announcement was today so he would best leave now. "You can come along, or Duncan can you decided, but someone needs to stay just in case the rebels choose to attack early." He yawned.
(We skip til they arrive, and find Gaius, or skip to the announcement with everybody xD)
(I understand, I'll just play the Witcher while I wait for your replies xD)

Ariella laughed and shook her head. “Oh don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine,” she told him, not wanting to bother him with anything or making him feel obligated to do something for her. Part of it was that she didn’t realise how much different she’d been acting lately, so she didn’t think it was a bit deal to begin with. The other part was that she wasn’t able to admit to herself that she was, in fact, quite lonely a lot of the time despite her relationship Jayton. They were both in it for very different reasons and therefore it wasn’t quite satisfying her need to feel loved. Just then Vivian walked around the corner and saw Ace’s back, but Ariella was blocked from her view. “Oh, sorry, Ace, have you been waiting long?” she asked, hurrying over. When she saw the princess, however, she stopped short and curtseyed, her smile fading slightly. “I beg your pardon, my Lady, I’ll leave you two to talk,” she said and started to turn away. “Oh it’s all right, miss Vivian, I was just leaving,” Ariella insisted. She didn’t really want to talk to Ace about herself and what she’d been up to lately, and he appeared to not want to talk about himself, so it was probably best to just excuse herself. “Good day,” she said with a smile and then walked off. Vivian watched the princess go with an eyebrow raised, but the shrugged and turned to Ace. “So was there something you needed?” she asked, opening the door to her room and then inviting him in.
(Why don’t we just skip to his announcement. I feel like most of them are just sort of doing nothing. Unless you needed Ace to talk to Vivian. We could just quickly finish up with them and then skip. I mostly continued with them because it’s important for Ariella’s character development.)
(Once I have your answer I’ll post some starters.) (Also, I was thinking maybe at some point we could try to shake up our rp pattern a little. Ace and Vivian are almost always together, same with Drez and Mia, Brion and Zrayah, Alistair and Adaline, etc. It doesn’t have to be for terribly long periods of time because obviously Mia and Vivian don’t have as much to say to each other as Mia and Drezdon, but I thought it could be interesting.)
(On a completely random note, have you seen/read Vampire Knight?)

Mia was standing near the king as they waited for Drezdon to give his speech. A bard she learned was named Gaius, was playing a song on the lute as the meeting was first just a big party to calm the peasants, and nobles down to the news of Mia being the ruler while Drezdon became a Witcher, and then the wedding news which would cause a fuss since she was a mage, and all. However at the moment she was simply standing there watch the bard play, not like the other girl's who gawked at the handsome fellow, she merely glanced at his hands watching as they strummed the strings on the note, but to be fair by anyone else it looked like she was doing like a few of the other nobles. Turning her gaze a few moments later as the bard, or merchant that was named Gaius finished his ballad, and moved to let other newcomers come, and place a nice song for the King, and the rest of the nobles. Her brother was nowhere to be found at the moment, and so she was still on her own, though she could swore she saw Akyrum near by meaning Alistair had to be close. She wanted to go find the apprentice again, but she felt it was right to be by her future husband's side most of the time, and that's were she stood calmly watching everyone, and waiting for the announcement to come on.
Gaius who had just finished a ballad put back on his hat with a smile as a guard looked at him wondering if he was the Gaius they were looking for, but shook it off as who in there right mind would look their hunters in the eye, and smile. Plus Gaius looked a lot different now. Grabbing his top hat back from a cute noble girl he was letting wear it he placed it back on his head, and shared words with her for a bit before someone with a title came, and she went to speak with him. Turning to sit near a wall he was soon grabbed by a guy. "Come on sir, place some more.... The newcomers suck." He laughed at first Gaius thought it was some random guy, but on further glance he saw King Brion of Vulci who was dressed in a white suit though the king of Vulci still looked odd since he had become more of Elosi type of guy than a Vulci had most the time you heard of the warrior king. "...... Alright, Milord." He laughed nervously wondering why the king of Vulci wanted him. A few moments of playing he finished his first song when a note was placed in his hand. Reading it he sighed, and closed it for later.
Leaving the bard, King Brion was standing next to some peasants, he didn't tell Drezdon of his coming here, and he didn't want the boy to know, but Damien the advisor soon spotted him, and had went to inform Drezdon he assumed, but than two ladies stopped him, and well Brion was sure he was safe unless someone yelled his name randomly. He wanted to see what Hyde was up to, mainly because he planned on attacking the kingdom soon, once he finished the small rebellion problem he was currently having with Gildor. He had no one to really talk to now since he didn't want noticed, and he had chose to leave before either his advisor, or general could come with so if they came they came on there own. He was just hoping if one of them did they wouldn't blow his cover.
Ace wasn't up to much as he stood near the exit, he had no wanting to be there, all the king was announcing was stuff he already knew, but at the same time he was a noble, and a noble was met to come to this kind of stuff, and so here he was standing near the exit his eyes closed as he waited for either someone to strike up a conversation with him, or the king to start the normal meeting, and even than the party would continue for a few more hours most likely knowing these kind of parties. He debated on finding Vivian, but he figured she'd be on duty as a maid so he chose not to, he also debated on speaking with Ariella, but once again he decided not to do so.
Alistair was standing near a table not wanting the king to know of his return, not yet he would inform him after this big meeting. He was currently three beers in, and didn't seem to talk to anyone as he didn't have much to say, and he didn't wanna give out his appearance just yet. He'd simply tell Mia, and Drezdon once everything finished. He had already spoke with Adaline, and Akyrum earlier so at least he had people who could say he wasn't lying. However at one point he decided just sitting there had no point so he decided to go find a person to partake in some small talk with. He had no idea who he was looking for, and really anyone would suffice at the moment.
(Eh, sorry these are short I don't have much to go on besides there all at a party/meeting x3)

(I did more than enough math homework when I was in school. At least his stuff actually makes sense to me though. That's helpful.) (Good grief, as soon as I sit down to do something I want to do my parents find something else they need me to do -.- That and Drezdon's speech is turning out to be longer than I anticipated, so long story short, I'm not going to get a response up until late tonight because now I'm supposed to go hang out with some friends. I'm really sorry I've been so inconsistent this week, I'm hoping it'll get better once we get done with this trip we're taking this weekend.)

Drezdon had just finished a conversation with one of the lords and then told his announcer that he was ready to speak. A few moments later, trumpets sounded and the chatter died down until most of the room was silent. With a quick smile at Mia, he stepped forward. “Citizens of Hyde, I bid you welcome. To those who have come from afar, welcome to the capital city of Hyden, I am pleased to see so many people here,” he began, and then waited for the applause to die down. “I have called this gathering to share with you all some important decisions I have made, as I believe you as the people have the right to know what your king is doing and why.” To those who knew the news Drezdon was going to share it would be clear he was trying to soften them up and make himself look good at the same time. “First, you may be pleased to learn I have decided who I will take as my Queen,” he continued. This was met by applause and cheers, though he wasn’t sure how long that would last when he told them who. “She is intelligent and kind and I believe she will make an excellent Queen. People of Hyde, your new queen will be Lady Mia Monta,” he announced and waited to see the reaction. There was not as much protest as he expected, though there was no noticeable cheering and not everyone was clapping. In fact, some were frowning up at him with disapproving looks. At the same time, at least no one was openly protesting. Once that applause had died down, Drezdon went on. “There will be a ceremony soon followed by a large reception. Everyone in the kingdom is invited to the reception,” he informed them, earning him some shocked looks. This was mostly intended to be a crowd pleaser. Obviously the entire kingdom wouldn’t fit even in the castle’s largest room, but there would be tents and tables set out around the castle to accommodate people as they came. It was highly unlikely that the entire kingdom would come anyway, but there should be enough space for those that did. “The second thing I wish to inform you of may come as a shock to many, but please try to let me finish before you say anything.” Drezdon’s green eyes scanned the crowd for a moment before he continued. “I have decided to undergo the process to become a Witcher.” Just as he had predicted, the audience didn’t take it all that well. Some gasped in shock, others called out in protest, and some even walked out. There were some who didn’t say anything, but they were few among the crowd. Drezdon waited for everything to settle before going on. “I understand your concern and objections. Believe me, it was not an easy decision or one I took lightly.” That was not entirely the truth, but it certainly sounded better than the truth. “Ultimately it came down to what I thought best for the kingdom. I think we all know that King Brion in Vulci isn’t going to leave Hyde alone forever, no matter if he and I are related by blood.” A murmur ran through the crowd as the people acknowledged the threat Vulci posed. “When the day comes that King Brion decides to march on Hyde, I want to be able to show him that he will not be able to take Hyde so easily. I have already begun training more men for the armies, but if I have the ability to use magic, Hyde’s army will have even more power behind it. We will be able to stand against Vulci and show them that the people of Hyde will not give up. That we will not allow ourselves to be conquered!” In contrast to his previous announcement, this was met with enthusiastic applause and cheering. He had presented it in this way to help make his becoming a witcher more accepted with the people, and it appeared to have worked on most. It could still change as time passed, but for now they were happy. He then concluded the speech and told everyone they were welcome to continue with the party before sitting back down next to Mia at the table on the dais. “Well, it certainly could have gone worse,” he said with a laugh.
Once the king was done speaking, Vivian, who was going around and serving drinks to people, sidling up to Ace. “Would you care for a drink, milord? You look as if you might need one,” she said, holding out her tray to him, but the slight twinkle in her grey eyes showed she was teasing. She would wait to talk to him more about the king’s announcements and what to do next once they were alone, but she wanted to at least say hello. “I don’t know about him, but I certainly need one,” Zrayah said sauntering up next to Vivian and taking a goblet from the tray. “I think it’ll help me process the news a little better. Right now it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me,” he said with a laugh. After getting an odd look from Vivian he laughed again and said. “oh forgive me, my name is Zrayah.” He decided not to tell them he was King Brion’s advisor, but didn’t see it as a problem if they figured it out. It’s not as if the King Drezdon were trying to keep the meeting a secret. He then looked between Vivian and Ace expectantly. Vivian raised an eyebrow at him but told him her name with a smile. “It is an honor to meet you, miss Vivian and might I say you are a true beauty. Why a girl as beautiful as you might actually be worthy of being with me and my good looks,” he joked, grinning. If you didn’t know Zrayah you might take him as self-absorbed and egotistical, but that was only partially true. Despite herself, Vivian couldn’t help a small blush. “Do you always start conversations like that?” she asked, looking away from Zrayah. Had she not been serving drinks to people at a grand party, she might have been able to handle Zrayah better with a sassy comment or something, but she didn’t want to start anything and make a scene.
Akyrum hung in the back of the room, listening to the king speak. Everything he said was new to Akyrum, so he was quite interested the whole time. Now that it was over, however, he really just wanted to know what Alistair thought of all of it, especially the Witcher part. He had a feeling the king was either poorly informed about witchers, or was being lied to by someone about them, because he doubted he would be so keen to do it if he really knew what being a witcher meant.

(Sorry, today has been insane. I had to go to four different grocery stores looking for dry ice -.- We're about to leave, so I might be able to get more up tonight, but otherwise I don't know. Also, today I learned that I'm probably going to be somewhere without internet until Thursday at some point. I might be able to use my phone, but we'll see. Gah, again, I'm really sorry I haven't been on much the past few weeks. My schedule should mellow out once this trip is over.)
